HOME A gorgeous hanging plaque poking gentle fun at the county of Cumbria. The piece measures 24.5cm in length 8.7m in height .8cm in depth The piece has a golden brown & green background. The text is “Cumbria. The county that time forgot”. Inspired by the Edgar Rice Burroughs book & the 1974 film The land that time forgot where dinosaurs still ruled the earth. It gently implies that Cumbria hasn’t changed for millions of years, and maybe it hasn’t and that’s a good thing. It would be the ideal gift for a Cumbrian dweller or a Cumbrian who has ventured out into the world seeking adventure.The piece is unique and original & was hand crafted by myself in West Cumbria. No 2 pieces are ever the same This beautiful piece was created in a number of different stages over 4 to 5 days. Firstly a clear resin was carefully mixed and poured into the mould and air bubbles removed. Then the decorative items were positioned in that resin and further air bubbles removed. Then 24 to 48 hours later the background colour was selected, mixed and poured on top of the clear resin and decoration. Often a number of different colours are used and poured simultaneously to produce a unique pattern, shade and colouring. After 24 to 48 hours when the resin is solid the piece is sanded, edged & cleaned. The final production stage is a coating of UV resin to create a hard slightly domed covering. Which enhances the look of the piece and provides a tough shiny finish. I am not especially adept at photography so I use the DOLA app on my iPad to remove the background from my photos and replace them with backgrounds and decoration that show the piece better. I want to ensure you that the items in the photos that I am selling have NOT BEEN ENHANCED OR CHANGED AT ALL by the AI app. Sometimes they are not in right scale to the chosen background but I provide measurements of each piece in the item description. Any decorations shown in the photographs ( figures, glasses etc.) are purely AI generated and not included.
